The days of thinking of pearls as classic and boring are well and truly over. With this new Fancy collection, jewellery designer Berta Riera has demonstrated that pearls can be reinvented and radically transgressive. Do you dare to discover them?
The collection’s creator defines it as ‘the union of delicacy and radicalness’. And she has hit the nail on the head. These are black-plated silver pieces adorned with one or more white pearls. Each pearl is counterbalanced with a black-plated silver ball that adds strength to the piece.
Pendants and drop earrings composed of a series of links, double-hoop rings and bracelets featuring pearl and black metal ball pairings make the perfect addition to an evening look or round off a daytime outfit.
This is jewellery designer Berta Riera’s first collaboration with Joid’art, and we hope there will be many more to follow. Berta studied art, design and jewellery at the Escola Massana Art and Design Centre in Barcelona and the École Boulle art school in Paris. She has worked in a number of jewellery workshops, combining this with developing her own brand, with which she has participated internationally in exhibitions and trade fairs. She has also created fashion accessories for brands such as Massimo Dutti, Mango, Carolina Herrera, Uterqüe, Desigual and Pepe Jeans.
